B Week Day 1

Well, I started this day with high hopes and lots of great ideas. The lesson of the day, however, was more on flexibility than on the letter B. It happens.

We started the morning out with some blueberry pancakes on blue plates with butter and powdered sugar.

While we were eating, we brainstormed a list of words that begin with the letter B. This was much easier for Lily than I expected. She came up with quite of few words on the list. Thank to dad, we also included booger and behave to the list. Abby gave us bra and boobs. Lily added butt and booty. Gotta love my family! We continued to add words throughout the day, but this is the B this morning:

After everyone got dressed in blue and brown, we had to head out the door for a morning of running to different doctors' offices. Not a very fun or creative way to spend the day, but necessary nonetheless. We salvaged the morning by rocking out to a Bob and Larry CD from the library, which made Caleb a happy boy. The girls continued to point out every B word that they thought of or we encountered. We made it home just in time for lunch, which had nothing to do with B. Then momma enjoyed some B words while the kids napped: A Break with Bauer. :)

The after nap time we spent at the grocery store (time to discuss BUDGET, BARGAIN and BUYING) and the girls played Barbies while I made dinner. And after dinner and bath time for the Bubby, we were able to squeeze in a B-themed art project before the girls got ready for bed. We made symmetrical butterflies, which the girls painted with blue and brown.
Abby, Faith and Lily painting their butterflies with blue and brown paint.
Finished butterflies. Abby's is symmetrical, Lily and Faith not so much. Still, they had fun, so that's what counts!

So on the list for tomorrow is braiding hair and teaching Abby and Faith to braid yarn. I am planning a B book for Faith and a B box for Lily. We may do some bubble painting. Haven't decided for sure yet.
If nothing else, my children learned today about us being busy! And now mommy is going to enjoy the best B part of the day: bedtime for children and a bubble bath and beverage for momma!
